We held our first In-House Trainingevent at the end of February. The congregation at Aberdeen had requested a training day on ‘Outreach’ – one of the seven options being made available. Patrick travelled north and presented four sessions, focusing on the missional aspect of outreach, and emphasising the need for the whole body to be focused on the mission of God. There were a couple of group sessions during the day and an opportunity to feedback from a questionnaire that had been circulated prior to the event.

Ian Starrs, a graduate of the British Bible School and one of our occasional teachers helped to co-ordinate the event along with others from one of the congregation’s working groups.

There is certainly room for development, but the day achieved what we had set out to achieve. As a congregational activity it worked very well and similar training could easily become a part of any congregation’s calendar.
