corbytrainstation_1342891cYesterday saw a landmark event in the rejuvenation of the town of Corby as the first train bound for London in over 40 years left the new £17million railway station. And it was spot on time!

For many years Corby had been one of the largest towns in Europe not to have its own railway station. Passengers were required to travel to the nearest station in Kettering by bus, but that is now all set to change. Though there is currently only one train running in each direction per day, a full service is to be shortly introduced (just as soon as they have the rolling stock).

This now makes Corby more accessible than ever and is just a part of a refurbishment programme that is making it one of the fastest growing towns in the UK.
